Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Passenger Train (VHS video)

Ride on the longest and highest narrow gauge in North America as Pentrex presents the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. A remnant of the once-flourishing Rio Grande narrow gauge network, the railroad runs from Chama, New Mexico to Antonio, Colorado.

The trains are pulled by authentic coal-burning Mikado steam locomotives built in the middle 1920s. Daily, during summer months, they struggle up the four percent grade to the summit of Cumbres Pass at the 10,015-foot elevation. Passengers experience spectacular scenery as the trains wind their way back and forth along the serpentine route, crossing the state lines of Colorado and New Mexico numerous times.

Pentrex takes you into the cab of the locomotives to witness the engineer and fireman at work. Experience the awesome power of two steam engines at work at the head of the train as the engines blast upgrade.

Pentrex has beautifully captured this narrow gauge railroad at its finest. Numerous photo runbys highlight the trains in a variety of locations along the 64-mile line. There are endless hours of enjoyment in this tape on one of America's most spectacular narrow gauge railroads - the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic.
