The East Broad Top is the oldest narrow-gauge line still in operation in the U.S. and the last original narrow gauge railroad in existence east of the Mississippi River. Most of the original track remains intact. Historic artifacts line the route as if caught in a time warp. A tour of the railroad finds abandoned freight cars, old yards, stations, tunnels, water tanks, and bridges along the right of way.

Journey with us to the mountains of southern Pennsylvania to tour the legendary East Broad Top. Travel back in time to learn about the railroad's rich heritage, then take to the rails to see the line as it exists today. Experience the thrill of riding in the cab of a Mikado-type steam locomotive. From lineside, witness the spectacular beauty of steam locomotives operating on clear, cold October days.

A spectacular railfan weekend has the East Broad Top operating all available equipment to the delight of the visiting fans. Double-headed steam trains, freights, and EBT's M-1 motorcar are the star performers of the celebration. The pulse and excitement of today's East Broad Top is captured here for your enjoyment. See why the East Broad Top is called one of railroading's national treasures!
