Fallen Flags Series Volume I
Pentrex pays tribute to the fallen flags of American railroading with an exciting retrospective of Santa Fe motive power in New Mexico, Kansas, and Illinois during the 1960s and 1970s. The 8mm films of noted railroad photographer Dick Wallin provide remarkable footage of rarely seen and uncommon locomotives.
Thrill to the sights of Alco U30CGs and U28CGs, built exclusively for the Santa Fe, and the Fairbanks-Morse H12-44Ts at Dearborn Station in Chicago. All three had steam generators to heat passenger cars during switching operations. The highlights of the show are the EMD GP7M prototype used on the Santa Fe as #99, and the popular CF7s that were rebuilt from F3s and F7s by the Santa Fe in their own shops.
A wide variety of Fairbanks Morse, Baldwin, Alco, and EMD locomotives are seen in passenger and freight service, as well as a rare shot of an early articulated railcar. Added line drawings and specifications of each featured locomotive make this an important visual reference and resource for modelers, hobbyists, historians, and enthusiasts alike.
