At the Heber Valley Railroad in Utah and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Maryland, hard-working steamers pull freight equipment including boxcars, tank cars and coal hoppers. This is the first "Photo Freight" operated by steam locomotive #75 since being acquired and overhauled by the Heber Valley. On the Cass Scenic Railroad in West Virginia, old logging equipment is hauled by Shay locomotives to emulate the line's heritage. Shay #11 is making its first outing since being converted from oil to coal. In Colorado, the Durango & Silverton's annual Photographers' Special makes stops at locations deep in the Animas River Canyon where access is normally impossible.
