Winton Place is a busy junction in Cincinnati, Ohio. We spent an entire day there in late June, 2000 capturing the action on the triple-track main line. These still photos are actual scenes ("frame captures") from the Pentrex video Sunrise/Sunset Volume 3: Cincinnati.
Norfolk Southern train #891 passes a CSX ballast train pulled by a former Louisville & Nashville engine still in Seaboard System lettering.
Northbound Norfolk Southern steel train #60A approaches the interlocking signals.
A CSX passenger special heads north to Deshler, Ohio...
...and returns to Cincinnati in the late afternoon. Former Amtrak F40PH locomotives provide the power.
Leased power makes an appearance on CSX train Q-368.
Former Conrail engine 5800, a B36-7, handles CSX empty grain train G-929.
Loram Rail Grinder RG301 puts out a shower of sparks as it works past our camera location.
NS 8815 and a former Conrail unit move through Winton Place with eastbound NS stack train #236.
CSX local Y-121 waits in the background while CSX train Q-375 passes. Engine 8619 leads the manifest freight.
