Classic Twin Cities Railroading: We present a program filmed in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area during the Spring of 1970. Great Northern, Northern Pacific, and Burlington Route had just merged to form Burlington Northern. Chicago & North Western, Milwaukee Road, and Rock Island were still active in the Twin Cities. These still pictures are actual scenes ("frame captures") from the Pentrex video Classic Twin Cities Railroading.
An F-unit leads a Soo Line road train near Shoreham Yard.
An Alco RS-27 and an EMD GP-9 team up to pull a transfer run over the Mississippi River.
A rare Baldwin DT-6-2000 centercab switcher works on the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern at Glenwood Junction.
A Milwaukee Road GP-9 and two F-units roll into St. Paul Yard caboose hop.
A Rock Island F-unit and wooden caboose are assigned to this transfer run near St. Paul Union Depot.
The second GP-40 on this transfer run wears the Rock's then-new red color scheme.
