This film produced by the Association of American Railroads takes its title from the 225,000 miles of track in service in 1953 when diesel power was replacing steam. The program highlights many F-units and even shots of a Union Pacific gas turbine and Santa Fe billboard refrigerator cars. The dramatic close features a Rock Island F-unit passing right over the camera!
