Its Servicing, Maintenance & Repair
Pentrex takes you behind the scenes at Santa Fe's shops in San Bernardino, Barstow, and Winslow during the 1950s to witness the complete servicing of early freight and passenger diesels. You'll see Santa Fe's diesel repair crews checking all the mechanical elements inside the locomotives, such as valves, lifters, piston, and connecting rods, and removing rocker arm assemblies, injectors, heads, and piston assemblies for repair or replacement.

Watch as generators, auxiliary generators, steam generators, and high voltage relays and reversers are checked out and traction motors are inspected and serviced. Then enjoy a demonstration of dynamic braking, complete with animated diagrams and live action.

This video show you dozens of scenes that few have witnessed. It's the complete procedure for servicing a fleet of active diesels on a busy railroad.
