With Richard Steinheimer and Don SimsHere's your opportunity to watch Richard Steinheimer in action!
Richard Steinheimer and life-long friend Don Sims set off on a nostalgic journey across the Southwest to revisit the places they stopped at during their historic photo safari of 1953. But this time they were accompanied by a camera crew who documented their adventure.
While trekking to favorite sites across Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico, Steinheimer explains to you what he looks for in a location, how he does things, and why. You'll see the team driving to the remembered spot, setting up for the best angles, then waiting for tell-tale signals of approaching trains. The long trains roll past, you hear shutters clicking, then you see the resulting photos. Beautiful!
Great pacing sequences, fantastic desert scenery, lots of trains, the thrill of the chase, and a greater understanding of why Steinheimer and others like him are keepers of railroad history - that's what you'll experience in A Desert Odyssey.
