Traveling aboard a BNSF freight train between Keddie, California and Klamath Falls, Oregon, the journey along the Inside Gateway takes you past Pit River Canyon and other remote areas accessible only by train. The ride along the former Great Northern track above Bieber is a fast-paced run through pine forests and across the semi-arid lands to the north, with stunning vistas of Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in the distance.

The Gateway Sub plays an important role in BNSF's overall strategy and traffic levels are at record highs.
